New website address and Dubai Forum

Happy new year!

I’m writing today to let you know that the web address of my Substack site will change.

From: https://www.foresightpresent.au

To: https://foresightpresent.substack.com

This is in keeping with my plan to simplify the number of things I have had in the past and to reduce costs in my “retirement”.

I will also be deleting my @foresightfutures.net and @foresightpresent.au email addresses from 1 February 2024. My permanent email now will be:

mkconway@proton.me

Finally, here are some photos from my trip to the Dubai Future Forum.

Mainly city photos from the Jumeriah Hotel where I was staying, with the 3D Printed House in the second photo, a couple of sunsets which were always good, and a photo of the walkway between the Museum of the Future and the Metro Station.

The Forum was held in this quite amazing building from the outside and in. I did the tour of the Museum and have included a few of photos - one a fireproof tree (video), an AI GPT Chat robot who tried to answer your questions, a photo of the review your senses exhibition, which was quite calming, and one of a DNA bank of every living creature. I, of course, had the paid photo taken.

There was one plenary session that I thought was unique - the seven astronauts from the Space Station on stage talking about their experience.

And here is a video of the presentation with Sohail Inayatullah. I had an anxiety attack 30 minutes before the session - everyone there was wonderful about it, but I was thinking “Geez Maree, just stop it!” This made the presentation a bit stilted, but it was my last one so I don’t have to do them anymore.

It was a great experience to present with Sohail though, and he was his usual wonderful self, making the audience take notice and leaving everyone wanting more.
