Why this site? In an increasingly busy world where the dominant focus is on the present, there is often little time to think in deep ways about just how we create our futures.

About the Posts

This is a content site primarily and posts about foresight and futures studies are the content. Here's a bit of information about how the posts are organised and the content itself.

Structure

Each post is tagged with a category (see below). Some posts are short, some are a bit longer. Some are text only, some have videos.

Posts are sourced from my writing over the past 20+ years to form an archive. I send out a new post every fortnight to add to the mix. Links to move to new/old posts are at the bottom of each page.

Categories

These categories are like keywords and define broad areas of interest, with posts covering a different topic about that category and they let you navigate the site.

I like to think it’s a dynamic list in the sense that we can add to it or change it to suit your needs and interests. I can’t promise I can write on all topics but I’ll do my best!

The Content

The posts are mainly informational in nature, although I sometimes include a comment about my experience and lessons learned. Some are written in more of a formal style and others are less formal. I include links to resources I cite as often as possible and list additional resources at the bottom of a post if that’s useful.

Everything I write here is based on my perspective, knowledge and experience and provided in the spirit of sharing. Other people will have different opinions and that is a good thing. My work is not intended to be right or wrong - instead, my aim is to trigger your thinking around how we imagine our futures beyond what you already might know.

Add your Ideas

Add your questions, thoughts and ideas to each post - in futures work, there's no such thing as a silly question or idea.

If you'd like to write a post for the site, email me with a bit of information about your proposed topic and which category you want to publish it.

Finally

The site is always a work in progress. I add new posts and information over time, and send out a link in my newsletter. You can subscribe to the newsletter as a free subscriber and read public posts, while paid subscriptions include access to the content archive among other things which are detailed in your welcome email.
