A Quick Message

Thank you to everyone who has subscribed recently - I’m very grateful. But I have to apologise for not posting more - I mentioned health issues in another post, and and incidental finding in one of my scans found a thyroid nodule which ended up with surgery to remove half of my thyroid. It was benign, but it makes you stop and think about things for a while. Here’s me in hospital.

This surgery was followed quickly by the birth of our first grandchild, so that was my only focus. We have just returned from a long holiday - with a bout of mild COVID thanks to someone passing it on to my husband when we were on our cruise and trip to Spain. It was like a seriously bad cold, and of course there is the lingering cough.

The result of course is that I’ve not been thinking about my book much but I’m aiming to do something with it before the end of the year. I have received requests to review futures documents or have a chat, and I’ve been remiss with them too, but still like doing that - it’s good for my brain. And open to more reviews (just not journals).

I’ve been in touch with Petra Cremers from Hanze University in the Netherlands recently who has written a piece on what has inspired her in her with working in the futures field which might be useful:

Totally unrelated to futures work, I am slowly building my travel site here on Substack which will have trip reports and photos. It has some reports and more are coming today and from now on. I once wanted to be a travel writer about cruising, but over time my posts have become more generic. You can take a look at what’s there now by subscribing for free.
